Privacy Policy

How Waynes Trading collects, uses and protects personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This Privacy Policy describes how Waynes Trading (“we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use this website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and to complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”) and applicable national data-protection laws.

1. Data Controller

Waynes Trading (the “Company”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller responsible for the personal data you provide through this website. Waynes Trading is the commercial arm connected to Waynes Holding PLC.

If you have any questions about how we handle your personal data, you can contact our commercial team at hareton@waynestrading.com. We do not currently operate a separate Data Protection Officer; direct any data-protection requests to the same address.

2. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal data when you visit waynestrading.com, submit an inquiry, application or supplier introduction, or otherwise interact with our digital presence.

It applies to all visitors and prospective commercial partners. It does not apply to the websites of third parties we may link to — we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

3. Personal Data We Collect

We collect personal data that you provide voluntarily when you complete a form on this site. This may include: your name, company name, role, email address, telephone number, country, and any commercial details you include in a message (for example product, origin, quantity, packaging or target market).

When you browse the site we also collect certain technical data automatically, including IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages and the pages you visit. This is processed to operate and secure the website.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. Commercial communications and contracting on this site are intended for business users.

4. Lawful Basis for Processing

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”), we process your personal data on the following lawful bases:

• Consent — where you have given clear, affirmative consent, for example to receive market insights or commercial updates (Article 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw consent at any time.

• Performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps — where you submit an inquiry, application or supplier introduction in order to take steps prior to entering a commercial relationship (Article 6(1)(b)).

• Legitimate interests — processing necessary to operate, secure and improve our website and to respond to your request, where our interests are not overridden by your rights (Article 6(1)(f)).

5. Purposes of Processing

We process your personal data to: respond to inquiries and commercial requests; assess supplier, brand and distribution-partner applications; coordinate sample preparation and commercial qualification; communicate regarding potential collaboration; operate, monitor and secure the website; and meet legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to comply with legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

Inquiry and application data is retained for the duration of the commercial evaluation and a reasonable period thereafter to allow follow-up and record-keeping. You may request earlier deletion where no legal basis for retention remains.

7. Sharing and Recipients

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with: internal personnel who need it to handle your request; affiliated entities within the Waynes Holding PLC group, where necessary for the stated purposes; and professional advisers, logistics providers or other service providers acting on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.

We may disclose personal data where required by law, court order or competent public authority. Where transfers to recipients outside the European Economic Area occur, we rely on an appropriate safeguard such as the European Commission’s adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request rectification of inaccurate data; request erasure (“right to be forgotten”); restrict or object to processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work or where an alleged infringement occurred.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hareton@waynestrading.com. We will respond within one month, extended where necessary by a further two months for complex requests.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. These include access controls, encryption in transit and limited, role-based access to submitted information.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is fully secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Cookies

Our website uses essential and analytics cookies to operate and improve the service. Essential cookies enable basic functionality and security; they cannot be disabled. Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.

Where non-essential cookies are used, they are set only with your consent, which you can manage or withdraw through your browser settings. A detailed Cookie Policy is available separately.

11. International Transfers

As an international trading business, we may process personal data across jurisdictions. Where your data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure an adequate level of protection through Commission adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

A list of recipients and the safeguard applied is available on request.

12. Children’s Privacy

This website and its services are directed at business users. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical or operational changes. The “last updated” date below indicates when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Material changes will be communicated through the website. Continued use of the site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Contact
